Loša prehrana, veća tjelesna teţina i smanjena sportska aktivnost, samo su neki od razloga oštećenja zgloba kuka. Zbog navedenih razloga ugradnja endoproteze kuka postala je kirurškom metodom liječenja takvih bolesnika. Prvi zahvati počeli su se provoditi 50-ih godina prošlog stoljeća. Sam zahvat ugradnje s vremenom se usavršavao da bi se u današnje vrijeme ovaj zahvat provodio gotovo bez ikakvih komplikacija. Veliko poboljšanje je ostvareno primjenom novih materijala, koji svojim svojstvima osiguravaju dulji vijek eksploatacije endoproteze kuka. Tako se danas za izradu endoproteze kuka koristi titan, keramika, poboljšani polietilen te ostali materijali. Primjenom novih materijala konstruiraju se i različite vrste endoproteza povećane stabilnosti. Iz tog razloga su propisane norme prema kojima je potrebno provesti ispitivanja medicinskih implatanata. U ovom radu provedeno je eksperimentalno ispitivanje aksijalne i torzijske stabilnosti acetabularne kape u umjetnoj kosti. Osim eksperimentalnog ispitivanja, provedena je i računalna simulacija s ciljem odreĎivanja mjesta i iznosa maksimalne deformacije na zdjeličnoj kosti pri utiskivanju acetabularne kape i opterećenju koje simulira normalni hod. Ispitivanja su provedena s novim modelom bescementne acetabularne kape izraĎene od materijala ISO 5832-3.

Abstract

Poor diet, increased body weight and reduced physical activity are risk factors that can cause damage of the hip joint. For these reasons, hip arthroplasty has become the surgical treatment of such patients. The first surgeries were performed in the 50s of the last century. The procedure was eventually perfected and now, it is performed almost without any complications. The big improvement was achieved using new materials, whose properties provide longer exploitation life of hip replacements. Nowadays, materials used for making hip replacements are titanium, ceramics, enhanced polyethylene and others. Using new materials, different endoprothesis with increased stability can be made. For this reason, norms are prescribed for testing the medical implants. This paper brings results in experimental testing of axial and torsional stability of acetabular shell in artificial bone. In addition to experimental tests, a computer simulation was carried out in order to determine the place and the amount of maximum deformation on the pelvic bone during the impress of acetabular shell and load that simulates a normal walk. These tests were carried out with a new model of cementless acetabular shell made of material ISO 5832-3.
