Abstract (Croatian)

Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) je jedna od mnogih metoda lean proizvodnje za smanjenje troškova u proizvodnom procesu. SMED metodolgija je vjerojatno najefikasniji alat za smanjenje vremena potrebnog za izmjenu alata. Sama bit SMED metodologije je pretvorba što više aktivnosti tijekom izmjene alata u "vanjske" (one koje se odvijaju dok stroj radi), te pojednostavljenje "unutarnjih" aktivnosti (one koje se odvijaju dok stroj stoji). Samo ime ove metode Single-Minute Exchange of Dies dolazi od zamisli da svaka izmjena alata u proizvodnji bi se trebala obaviti unutar deset minuta. Ovaj rad se sastoji od dva dijela. Prva poglavlja se bave problemima i ilustriraju ideje što se može postići primjenom ove metode, dok se druga poglavlja bave opisivanjem SMED alata, te kako ih pravilno koristiti.

Abstract

Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) is one of the many lean production [1] methods for reducing waste in a manufacturing process. SMED methodology is probably the most efficient way to reduce set-up time. The essence of the SMED methodology is to convert as many changeover steps as possible to "external" (performed while the equipment is running), and to simplify the "internal" steps (performed while the equipment is not running). The name Single-Minute Exchange of Dies comes from the goal of reducing changeover times to the "single" digits (less than 10 minutes). This thesis is composed of two sections. First chapters discuss and illustrate the ideas and logic of what we are trying to accomplish by adopting SMED method, whereas second chapters illustrate some of the tools of SMED and how to put them in good use.
