Abstract (Croatian)
Abstract
This work contains of two part: theoretical and experimental. Properties and application od shell moulding process are described in theoretical part. Construction of pattern and shell is described in detail. Methods of pattern heating, making of shells and impact on the shape of the shell are also decsribed. Aluminium alloy AlSi which was cast in the experimental part is briefly described and an overview of the mechanical properties is presented. The design and construction of pattern for shell moulding, making of shells and casting of specimen for tensile testing was done in experimental part. CAD model of pattern was used for filling and solidification simulation in QuikCAST software. Pattern for shell mould was made based on the results of simultaion. Influence of baking time and pattern temperature on shell thickness and dimensional accuray was examined. Radiography was used for testing of internal defects in castings followed by tensile testing. Castings without porosity were obtained. In two tensile specimens, inclusion of sand was observed that caused the decrease of the tensile strength below the value prescribed by the standard.
