Abstract (Croatian)

Aditivne tehnologije počele su se razvijati i primjenjivati drugom polovicom 80-ih godina prošlog stoljeća. Glavni uzrok je bilo zadovoljavanje tržišta koje zahtijeva sve veću kvalitetu proizvoda, fleksibilnost, manje troškove, kraća vremena razvoja i proizvodnje, te maloserijsku i pojedinačnu proizvodnju. U sklopu aditivnih tehnologija su se razvili i niskobudžetni 3D printeri, koji su danas postali vrlo dostupni i omogućuju značajnu ekspanziju primjene aditivnih tehnologija za razvoj i proizvodnju. Veliki broj niskobudžetnih 3D printera se počeo javljati na tržištu, što otežava izbor potencijalnom investitoru. U okviru ovoga rada obrađeni su niskobudžetni 3D printeri, njihova načela rada, izvedba uređaja, materijali koje mogu prerađivati te greške i problemi same tehnologije, kako bi se oni razumjeli za daljnje uspoređivanje. Navedeni su na tržištu najzastupljeniji i najpopularniji niskobudžetni 3D printeri sa svojim značajkama za međusobnu usporedbu, te su od njih zbog vlastite dostupnosti odabrani Ultimaker Original i MakerBot Replicator 2X. Oni su detaljno uspoređeni, a njihove performanse pri izvedbi referentnih prototipova su uspoređene kroz provedena mjerenja. MakerBot Replicator 2X je ponudio bolje rezultate i ocijenjen je kao bolji 3D printer, a ponuđeni pristup nudi primjer na što sve treba obratiti pozornost pri odluci kupovine.

Abstract

Additive technologies have begun its development and application since the second half of the 1980s. The main reason behind that was to fulfil the market demands of increased product quality, flexibility, lower costs, shorter development time and production, as well as small series and individual production. As part of additive technologies, low-budget 3D printers have been developed and are widely available now, and also allow a significant expansion of the application of additive technologies for development and production. A large number of low-budget 3D printers on the market make it difficult for the potential investor to choose from. The working principle of low-budget 3D printers, their construction, materials that they can process and the errors and problems of their technology, were all explained and described to understand further comparisons. The most common and popular low-budget 3D printers were described along with their features for mutual comparison. Two of them, the MakerBot Replicator 2X and Ultimaker Original, were chosen due to their availability for a detailed comparison. Their performances in making the referent prototypes were also compared through conducted measurements. MakerBot Replicator 2X gave better results and was chosen as a better 3D printer while the offered approach gives an example on what to pay attention when buying a low-budget 3D printer.
