Abstract (Croatian)

Ovaj završni rad daje pregled osnovnih propisa koji služe zaštiti okoliša s naglaskom na proizvodnju energetskih transformatora. Nadalje, zajedno sa pregledom osnovnih propisa, dan je opis koncepta zelenih lanaca opskrbe kao jedne od inicijativa koja nadilazi samo poštovanje propisa te kao takav pruža priliku poslovnim subjektima da steknu kompetitivnu prednost na tržištu. Predstavljena je Procjena životnog ciklusa (LCA) kao metoda koja podržava odnosno djeluje simbiotski sa zelenim inicijativama u lancima opskrbe te je primjenjena na primjeru energetskog transformatora kao strateškog elementa u električnim mrežama. Prilikom provedbe analize objašnjene su sve bitne pretpostavke i posljedice koje one donose na konačan rezultat analize. Na kraju, iznesena je diskusija rezultata koja služi kritici, kako primjeni metode na samom energetskom transformatoru, tako i potencijalu razvoja same metode.

Abstract

This thesis gives a short overview of legislation regarding environmental sustainability with focus on market for power transformers. Modern business philosophies consider Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) concept as initiative which greatly surpasses basic compliance with legislature. One can conclude that with reasonable application of GSCM initiatives, businesses can provide significant competitive advantage on the market. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a method which acts symbiotic together with GSCM initiatives. Generic description of LCA methodology is thoroughly explained. With regard to the goal of this thesis, a basic description of Power transformer as a strategic element in electrical power grid has been given. After the above stated sections, a description of application of LCA on a power transformer has been given. Assumptions under which LCA is conducted are explained in order for the user of this thesis to understand which effects these assumptions have. At the end of the thesis, critical discussion of results has been made which serves as a basis for conclusions regarding improvement potential of power transformer life cycle and LCA method itself.
