Abstract (Croatian)

Učestale pomorske nesreće, osobito tankera i brodova za prijevoz rasutih tereta, vratile su zamor detalja brodskih konstrukcija, koji je prepoznat kao značajan uzročnik takvih problema, u žižu zanimanja istraživača diljem svijeta. U radu se pokušava cjelovito sagledati ovaj aktualan problem. Opisan je mehanizam zamaranja materijala. Analizirani su uzroci nastanka zamornih pukotina u detaljima brodskih konstrukcija. Iznesene su mjere pomoću kojih je moguće poboljšati dinamičku izdržljivost detalja. Detaljno su razmatrani svi koraci u proračunu životnog vijeka. Opisana su dva najuobičajenija pristupa procjeni dinamičke čvrstoće – pristup S-N krivulje i pristup mehanike loma. Iznesene su i osnove vjerojatnosnog pristupa. Prikazani su postupci koje klasifikacijska društva primjenjuju u analizama detalja brodskih konstrukcija. Na kraju su provedeni proračuni životnog vijeka prema pravilima klasifikacijskih društava.

Abstract

Due to the increasing number of accidents at sea, especially ones that included tankers and bulk carriers, researchers across the world are greatly interested in the fatigue of ship structural details, which is recognized as one of the main causes of such accidents. In this thesis problem of fatigue of structural details is thoroughly analysed. Fatigue mechanism is described. Causes for fatigue crack nucleation in ship structural details are analysed. Methods for the improvement of the fatigue strength of ship structural details are given. All steps in fatigue life calculation are analysed in details. Two most common approaches to life prediction, S-N curve approach and fracture mechanics approach, are described. The basis of the probabilistic approach is given. Procedures that classification societies use in ship structural detail analysis are described. At the end, fatigue life calculations are performed according to the guidelines of the classification societies.
