Abstract (Croatian)

Kontinuirani razvoj motora s unutarnjim izgaranjem usmjeren je k postizanju što veće snage uz što manju potrošnju goriva. Istovremeno, sve stroži propisi o dozvoljenim emisijama štetnih tvari, postavljaju na suvremene motore zahtjeve koji će se postojećim Ottovim i Dieselovim motorima teško moći zadovoljiti. Moguće rješenje je motor s homogenom smjesom i kompresijskim paljenjem – HCCI motor (engl. Homogenuos Charge Compression Ignition – HCCI). U svrhu daljnjeg napretka u području HCCI motora, u okviru ovog doktorskog rada razvijen je višezonski simulacijski model izgaranja s integriranom kemijskom kinetikom i razdvojenim rješavanjem stanja u zonama. Povećanjem broja zona modela može se povećati točnost proračuna procesa izgaranja u HCCI motoru. Obzirom da se model odnosi samo na visokotlačni dio radnog procesa, integracijom modela u programski paket AVL BOOST, omogućuje se simulacija čitavog radnog ciklusa HCCI motora.

Abstract

Continuous development of the internal combustion engines is focused on increasing the power output while decreasing the fuel consumption. At the same time, stricter emissions regulations raise the demands on modern engines that will be hardly fulfilled with the existing spark ignition and compression ignition engines. A possible solution is a HCCI (Homogenous Charge Compression Ignition) engine. To make further progress in the field of HCCI engines, within this dissertation a multi-zone simulation model with integrated chemical kinetics and segregated solver is developed. By increasing the number of model zones, the accuracy of the combustion process calculation in the HCCI engine can be improved. Since the simulation model calculates the high pressure cycle only, integration of the model in the software package AVL BOOST allows the full cycle simulation of the HCCI engine.
