Sol-gel TiO2 films were prepared on glass substrate with the dip-coating technique by using titanium tetraisopropoxide as precursor. Starting TiO2 solutions were prepared with and without the addition of polyethylene glycol (PEG). The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) equiped with EDS detector and UV–Vis spectroscopy. The addition of PEG to the TiO2 solution resulted in the changes the ratio of anatase-rutile crystal of TiO2. The TiO2 film prepared with PEG is characterized by a lower amount of rutile phase of TiO2 and a higher amount of anatase phase of TiO2 than the TiO2 film without the addition of PEG.
