Abstract
Information-communication technology strongly shapes the world we live in. The influence on society was so deep during the last few decades that some sociologists are talking about the emergence of the information or network society. But, there are a few studies analyzing the relationship between ICT and sustainability. One of the recently developed concepts aiming to bridge these two is the concept of sustainable information society. This article will try to explore some aspects of present-day practices in ICT sector, bearing in mind that technological development should be subjected to social agenda ensuring well-being of human and natural systems.
