Abstract (Croatian)

Nehrđajući čelici su danas neizostavan dio ljudske svakodnevice. Primjena takvih čelika u proizvodnji lijekova stavlja u fokus njihovu kemijsku postojanost, koja u određenim uvjetima ne opravdava pridjev ''nehrđajući'' u njihovom nazivu. U prvom dijelu rada definirani su nehrđajući čelici, prikazana je njihova podjela, uz pregled najčešće korištenih nehrđajućih čelika u farmaceutskoj industriji. Opisani su mehanizmi korozije koji uobičajeno zahvaćaju nehrđajuće čelike, metode obrade površine, kao i mehanizmi zaštite nehrđajućih čelika od korozije. U eksperimentalnom dijelu rada ispitana je otpornost na rupičastu koroziju na pet uzoraka čelika X2CrNiMo17-12-2 s različito obrađenom površinom. Na temelju rezultata ispitivanja doneseni su zaključci o utjecaju stanja površine nehrđajućeg čelika na njegovu korozijsku postojanost.

Abstract

Stainless steels are an essential part of the modern society. The use of stainless steel materials in the pharmaceutical industry places a spotlight on their corrosion resistance, which, in certain conditions, doesn’t justify the adjective ‘’stainless’’ in their name. The first part of the paper is focused on defining stainless steels and classifying them, with an overview of types of steel most commonly used in pharmaceutical industry. Thereafter, the corrosion mechanisms, surface treatment methods and corrosion protection mechanisms are described. The experimental part of the paper consists of corrosion resistance tests conducted on five differently prepared samples of X2CrNiMo17-12-2 steel, each one with a different surface treatment. In the end, based on the test results, conclusions are made about the influence of surface condition of stainless steels on their corrosion resistance.
