Abstract (Croatian)

Pri gibanju automobila aerodinamičke sile otpora i uzgona te njihova raspodjela mijenjaju se u ovisnosti o više parametara jedan od kojih je i prisutnost drugih automobila u neposrednoj blizini. Posebnu pozornost ovoj situaciji treba posvetiti kod natjecateljskih automobila koji na sebi imaju dodatne aerodinamičke elemente u svrhu poboljšanja dinamičkih svojstava. Spomenuti aerodinamički elementi relativno su osjetljivi na karakteristike nailazećeg strujanja te su podložni odvajanjima i zastojima strujanja te gubicima efikasnosti kada se nađu u aerodinamičkom vrtložnom tragu vozila ispred. U ovom radu istražena je ovisnost aerodinamičkih sila otpora i uzgona u ovisnosti o međusobnom razmaku između pojednostavljenih modela vodećeg i pratećeg automobila klase LM GTE (prethodno FIA GT2). Uz pomoć programskog paketa ANSYS FLUENT numerički je simulirano nestlačivo viskozno opstrujavanje zraka oko automobila, pri čemu je variran međusobni razmak x u odnosu na duljinu vozila L od x / L = 0.125 do 4. Na temelju rezultata dobivena je zavisnost koeficijenata aerodinamičkih sila otpora i uzgona za simulaciju vožnje automobila tijekom utrke. Dobiveni rezultati potvrđuju neke od pretpostavki o ponašanju sile otpora i uzgona u ovisnosti o međusobnom razmaku vozila.

Abstract

Aerodynamic forces of drag and lift and their distribution are subject to change depending on many parameters, one of which is the proximity of other vehicles. Special attention should be paid to this effect when considering racing cars which carry additional aerodynamic elements which aid their performance. Aforementioned aerodynamic elements are sensitive to the characteristics of the oncoming flow and are prone to flow separation, stall and loss of efficiency when subjected to a disturbed flow field behind a leading vehicle. The dependency of aerodynamics forces of drag and lift on inter-vehicle spacing of a simplified LM GTE class vehicle (formerly FIA GT2) was examined in this thesis. ANSYS FLUENT was used for the numerical simulation of an incompressible viscous flow around the vehicles, while the inter-vehicle spacing x was varied based on the vehicle length L between x / L = 0.125 and 4. Dependence of aerodynamic forces of drag and lift on inter-vehicle spacing was obtained based on the results of the numerical simulation. Obtained results confirm some of the assumptions about the drag and lift force behavior at changing inter-vehicle spacing.
