Abstract (Croatian)

Cilj ovog rada je ispitati mogućnost primjene otpadnog jarosita kao punila u kompozitu poliesterske smole ojačane staklenim vlaknima. U prvom dijelu rada dan je opći prikaz podjele kompozita, građe polimernih kompozita, svojstva, vrste i primjene polimernih kompozita. U eksperimentalnom dijelu rada prikazana je izrada kompozitnog materijala s matricom od poliesterske smole ojačane staklenim vlaknima te izrada kompozita s matricom od poliesterske smole ojačane staklenim vlaknima uz dodatak čestica jarosita kao punila masenog udjela od 5 %, 10 % i 20 %. Pripravljenim kompozitima ispitana su sljedeća mehaničkih svojstava: savojna čvrstoća i savojni modul elastičnosti, međuslojna smična čvrstoća, tvrdoća i žilavost. Najbolja mehanička svojstva su postignuta za poliestersku smolu ojačanu staklenim vlaknima uz dodatak od 10 % čestica jarosita kao punila.

Abstract

The goal of this master thesis is investigation of the possibility of application of jarosite waste as filler in a glass fiber reinforced composite polyester resin. In the first part of master thesis is shown general division of composite materials, structure of polymer composites, properties, types and application of polymer composites. In the experimental part is shown the production of glass fiber reinforced composite polyester resin as well as production of glass fiber reinforced composite polyester resin with the addition of particles of jarosite as filler in various mass fraction of 5%, 10 % and 20 %. After the production of composites, following mechanical properties were measured: bending strength and flexural modulus of elasticity, interlaminar shear strength, hardness and toughness. The best mechanical properties were obtained for the polyester resin reinforced with glass fibers with the addition of 10% jarosite particles as fillers.
