Abstract (Croatian)
Gipsani zavoji često se koriste za imobilizaciju dijelova tijela. Prilikom njihovog namakanja u vodi dolazi do egzotermne reakcije pri kojoj se oslobađa toplina koja može dovesti do nastanka opekotina na koži. Nakon omatanja zavoja i namakanja vodom nastaje slojeviti kompozit kojemu je matrica medicinski gips, a ojačalo pamučna mrežasta gaza. U ovom radu su ispitana mehanička svojstva gipsanih zavoja od tri različita proizvođača: Safix plus (Hartman, Njemačka), Cellona (Lohman Rauscher, Austria) i Gipsan (Ivo Lola Ribar d.o.o., Hrvatska). Zavoji su načinjeni od 10 i 15 slojeva pri različitim temperaturama sadrenja. Ispitivanjem na savijanje određen je savojni modul elastičnosti i savojna čvrstoća. Također je ispitana promjena temperature sadrenja tijekom očvršćivanja gipsanog zavoja. Nakon provedenih ispitivanja i obrade rezultata doneseni su zaključci o utjecaju temperature sadrenja i debljine slojeva na mehanička svojstva gipsanih zavoja od triju različitih proizvođača.
Abstract
Orthopedic plaster casts are often used to immobilize some parts of the human body. While they are soaked in water, an exothermic reaction occurs and heat is released that can cause skin burns. After wrapping and soaking the plaster, a new layerd composite is made whose matrix is medical plaster and its reinforcement is mesh gauze made of cotton. In this thesis, mechanical properties of orthopedic plaster casts are tested from three different manufacturers: Safix plus (Hartman, Germany), Cellona (Lohman Rauscher, Austria) and Gipsan (Ivo Lola Ribar d.o.o., Croatia). Plasters are made of 10 and 15 layers at different temperatures of casting. By performing a bending test, the flexural modulus and the flexural strength are determined. Also, the temperature change of casting is tested during the curing of orthopedic plaster casts. After performing the tests and processing the results, conclusions about the effect of temperature of casting and thickness of layers on mechanical properties of orthopedic plaster casts from three different manufacturers have been made.
