Abstract (Croatian)

Abstract

The goal of this bachelor thesis was to develop a program for simulation and analysis of vehicle performance, based on a simple mathematical model which describes a vehicle as a set of basic parameters which influence vehicle performanse. The purpose of this program is to analyze the influence of theese parameters on performance and to perform an evaluation of different concepts in early stages of Formula Student race car development. At the beginning of the thesis, Formula Student competition is described, and the need for this type of program in early stages of race car development is explained. Detailed description of dynamic disciplines is given as well as and scoring principles for theese discplines. The next chapter describes the basic parameters which influence vehicle performanse, limitations and assumptions imposed by using this type of model and the equasions of which the mathematical model consists. The main part of the thesis is the presentation of the developed program and its features. The process of vehicle modelling and simulation, as well as the analysis of the obtained results is shown, and the comparison of a developed program to a similar program called OptimumLap is given. Evaluation of a developed program is conducted by comparing the results with those obtained in a commercial program CarSim, which incorporates mathematical models of much higher complexity, thus simulating vehicle dynamics with very high accuracy. In the final part of the thesis, the evaluation of different concepts in development of FSB Racing Team's new race car, using both programs, is shown.
