Abstract

Additive technology can reduce production time and cost required to create a new product from initial concept to production. These technologies can assist in identifying the basic mistakes that are expensive to correct if they are detected when the product has already started. However, parts are not cheap, and decision how to produce them to obtain maximum benefit, sometimes is difficult. Besides of the cost of materials also the cost of machine plays a significant role in the price of the produced part. Recently low-budget machines appear on the market. Those machines are mainly based on Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) process. Machines have the ability to create parts from ABS, PP, PE-HD or PLA, and there is a way to affect on the quality of produced parts with setting the correct processing parameters. The work will analyze the effect of process parameters on mechanical properties of finished parts and the most common mistakes that can occur during production.
