Abstract (Croatian)

Prijelomi distalnog radijusa predstavljaju jedan od najčešćih prijeloma te zbog toga njihovo liječenje ima veliki značaj u medicini. Spajanje ulomaka prijeloma implantatima s ciljem vraćanja funkcije šake i ručnog zgloba naziva se osteosinteza. Posljednjih godina prijelomi distalnog radijusa se liječe operativno otvorenom repozicijom i unutarnjom fiksacijom pločicama na zaključavanje. Rad je podijeljen u dva dijela. U prvom, teorijskom dijelu dana je teorijska podloga potrebna za razumijevanje provedenih ispitivanja. Također, prikazan je i životni ciklus volarne pločice na zaključavanje, predmeta ispitivanja u ovom radu. U drugom dijelu rada prikazano je numeričko i eksperimentalno ispitivanje biomehaničke stabilnosti volarne pločice na zaključavanje. Eksperimentalno statičko ispitivanje provedeno je s dugom i kratkom pločicom, a pri cikličkom opterećenju ispitana je kratka pločica. Numerički proračuni metodom konačnih elemenata provedeni su na modelima s dugom i kratkom pločicom pri aksijalno tlačnom opterećenju, dorzalnom i volarnom savijanju te uvijanju. Rezultati eksperimentalnih ispitivanja su pokazali zadovoljavajuću savojnu dinamičku izdržljivost pločice. Ispitivanja prikazana u ovom radu provedena su u Laboratoriju za eksperimentalnu mehaniku Fakulteta strojarstva i brodogradnje, Sveučilišta u Zagrebu.

Abstract

Distal radius fractures are one of the most common bone fractures and therefore their treatment has a significant impact in medicine. The procedure of joining fracture fragments with implants to restore the function of the bone is called osteosynthesis. Recently, distal radius fractures are treated operatively with open reposition or with internal fixation of locking plates. Presented thesis is divided into two parts. First, theoretical part elaborates theoretical fundamentals which are essential to understand background of conducted research. Lifecycle of volar locking plate, the subject of the testing, has also been presented. The second part of the paper presents findings of conducted numerical and experimental testing series of biomechanical stability of the plate. Static testing was conducted using short and long plate while cycling testing has been conducted on short one. Numerical calculations using finite element analysis were performed on models with long and short plate with axial loads, dorsal and volar bending and flexing. Experimental testing have shown that bending fatigue strength of the volar locking plate is satisfactory. Presented testing were conducted in the Laboratory for Experimental Mechanics of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, University of Zagreb.
