Abstract (Croatian)
Ljudska lubanja (lat. cranium) je koštana osnova glave koja je pozicionirana na vrhu kralježnice. Tvori osnovu lica te štiti i obavija mozak i osjetne organe. Bušenje je vrsta obrađivanja odvajanjem čestica kod koje alat vrši glavno gibanje, rotaciju, i posmično gibanje, translaciju, a služi za izradu provrta. Prilikom oštećenja mozga pristupa se operativnom zahvatu bušenja lubanje, kraniotomiji. Kraniotomija predstavlja jednu od najstarijih vrsta operacije. Koristi se prilikom ozbiljnih oštećenja mozga i trauma glave, odstranjivanja ugrušaka krvi ili hematoma, uzimanja uzoraka potrebnih za testiranje karcinoma i odstranjivanje istog te mnoge druge primjene. Usprkos stalnom razvoju kako vještine kirurga, tako i razvitka same tehnologije, uvijek dolazi do oštećenja tkiva. Ovim radom pobliže se opisuje anatomija ljudske lubanje, uređaji i alati korišteni u kraniotomiji te utjecaj različitih parametara bušenja prilikom operacije. U konačnici ponuđeni su optimalni parametri bušenja kao mjera prevencije prekomjernog oštećenja tkiva.
Abstract
The human skull (lat. Cranium) is the bone foundation of the head which is positioned on top of the spine. It forms the basis for the face and protects and covers the brain and sensory organs. Drilling is a type of particle separating process where the tool performs the main motion, rotation, and the shear movement, translational motion, to create burr holes. In cases of brain injuries, the preffered surgical procedure is craniotomy. Craniotomy is one of the oldest types of surgery. It is used in serious brain damage and head trauma, removal of blood clots or hematomas, sampling necessary for cancer screening and removal, and many other uses. Despite the constant development of both the surgeon's skills and the development of technology itself, tissue damage is always present. This paper describes the human skull anatomy, devices and tools used in craniotomy and the impact of different drilling parameters during surgery. Ultimately, the paper presents the optimal drilling parameters for skull drilling to prevent excessive tissue damage.
