Abstract (Croatian)

„Pinch“ i Eksergijskoj analizi.

Abstract

Process design for waste heat recovery and implementation of the renewable sources of energy is carried out for the Atmospheric distillation plant within the Oil refinery in Sisak, owned by INA – Industrija nafte d.d. Zagreb. The results have shown that rational use of thermal energy within the plant can be improved in two ways: (i) by designing the heat recovery system and (ii) by installing binary ORC (Organic Rankine Cycle) units. The research has been conducted by using the modern, system‐oriented methods of process design, specifically the two methods of Heat integration based on Pinch and Exergy analysis. The presented research results have shown that it is possible to significantly contribute to the improvement of energy, environmental and economic performance of the plant, and that it is possible to generalize the proposed methodologies for a wider application of the Process design methods to similar problems in process industry, and to easily incorporate the renewable energy sources in the overall plant energy balance.
