Abstract (Croatian)

Temeljna ideja ovog diplomskog rada je ispitati utjecaj ojačanja na mehanička svojstva polimera koji se koriste u stomatologiji. Ovaj diplomski rad je napravljen u dva djela. Prvi dio se sastoji od kraće teorijske osnove polimera i kompozita, na kojima se temelji ovaj rad. Drugi dio ovog diplomskog rada predstavlja eksperimentalni dio u kojem su opisani postupci izrade uzoraka i ispitivanja mehaničkih svojstava. Ispitivanja su provedena na tri grupe uzoraka: polimer bez ojačanja, polimer s neimpregniranim ojačanjem i polimer s impregniranim ojačanjem. U diplomskom radu korišten je polimer poli(metil-metakrilat) i ojačalo od staklenih vlakana. Provedena su ispitivanja udarnog rada loma, statičkog vlačnog pokusa i savijanja u tri točke. Naposljetku prijelomna površina uzoraka je analizirana na skenirajućem elektronskom mikroskopu te su dani rezultati ispitivanja i zaključak.

Abstract

The aim of this thesis was to study the effect of different reinforcements on mechanical properties of polymers used in dental medicine. The thesis consists of two parts. The first part presents a brief theoretical overview of polymers and composites while the second part focuses on the experimental part of the study, presenting the fabrication of samples and testing their mechanical properties. The tests were performed on three groups of samples: non-reinforced polymers, polymers containing non-impregnated glass fibre reinforcement and polymers containing impregnated glass fibre reinforcement. Polymethyl-methacrylate (PMMA) and glass fibre reinforcements were used in these tests. The fracture impact, static tensile, and three-point-bend tests were also carried out. Finally, the fracture surfaces of the samples were analyzed using a scanning electron microscope. The results of the analysis were presented along with the conclusion.
