Abstract (Croatian)

Otkad su kompozitne proteze postale ekonomski prihvatljivije porasla je i potražnja za njima. U današnje vrijeme imaju veoma široku bazu korisnika te odlično nadomješćuju nedostatak zdravog uda.Međutim, nije uvijek tako bilo. Počeci su za protetiku bili veoma primitivni te su proteze prvotno uglavnom služile kao estetska zamjena za amputirani dio tijela. Kako se znanost razvijala, tako su i proteze postajale sofisticiranije. Najveći napredak se uvijek događao tijekom i nakon većih ratova, gdje je potreba za protezama uvijek drastično porasla. Danas postoji mnogo drugih uzroka za amputacije, kao što su razne bolesti, pogotovo u razvijenim zemljama, i stoga se protetika neprestano razvija. Od primitivnih i klasičnih inženjerskih materijala se prelazi na nove tehnike izrade i nove materijale kao što su kompozitni materijali.Određene tvrtke su se specijalizirale za izradu kompozitnih proteza i teži se čim većoj individualizaciji i prilagodljivosti proteza. Izrađuju se razne veličine za ljude različite građe te postoje proteze koje su specijalizirane za određene zadatke, kao što je sprintanje, plivanje itd. Ali isto tako postoje proteze koje služe za svakodnevnu upotrebu i mogu se prilagoditi raznim situacijama u svakodnevnom životu. Osim individualizaciji se teži i k neupadljivosti te se pokušava postići čim prirodniji osjećaj korištenja.Trkaće proteze spadaju među specijalizirane proteze koje se koriste kako amaterski tako i profesionalno. Iz toga razloga je bitno optimirati proteze za bolju udobnost tijekom korištenja te za poboljšanje performansi. Bitno je da se vodi briga i o povratu energije tijekom trčanja, s obzirom na to da se na taj način smanjuje umor sportaša tijekom trčanja. U ovom radu provest će se nekoliko dinamičkih analiza za različite varijante trkaćih proteza. Varirali su se materijali, raspored slojeva te orijentacija vlakana kako bi se mogla usporediti rezultati i time doći do najbolje varijante među njima.

Abstract

Ever since composite prosthetics became economically feasible, the demand for them began to rise. Today they cover a wide base of users and are constantly evolving to be a great substitute for healthy limbs.However, this was not always the case. The beginnings of prosthetics were fairly primitive and prosthetic appliances were mostly used for cosmetic purposes. As science began to develop, prosthetics became ever more sophisticated. The greatest advances were always made during great wars and/or after them, as the demand for prosthetic appliances drastically grew. These days there are a lot of other reasons for limb loss, including various diseases, especially in developed countries. Therefore prosthetic science is developing constantly. There is a clear transition from primitive, crude and common engineering material to new material sciences and new materials, like composite materials. Certain firms have specialized in the field of composite prosthetics and there is a clear striving for individualization and adaptability of prosthetic appliances. Prosthetic are being made for many different groups of people, based on criteria like height, weight or gender. There are prosthetics available which are specialized to certain field of expertise, e.g. sprinting, swimming etc. However, there are also prosthetics available which are used on an everyday basis for everyday tasks. Those types of prosthetics can adapt very well to everyday situations. Besides individualization, there is a clear step towards inconspicuousness and natural feel of everyday prosthetics. Running-specific prosthetics on the other hand fall into the category of specialized prosthetics. They can be used either on an amateur or a professional level. For this reason it is important to optimize them for comfortability so they don’t hinder athletes in their accomplishments. Another way to increase performance is to maximize energy return for running prosthetics and therefore minimize strain on the body and thereby fatigue.The goal of this Master’s Thesis is to perform several dynamic analyses on a running-specific prosthesis with variations in composite materials, layups and fiber orientations. The results of the analyses were compared to evaluate the influence of the individual input parameters on the performance of the prosthesis.
