Abstract (Croatian)

Cilj ovog završnog rada je usporedba pomorstvenih karakteristika dvije regatne jedrilice. U svrhu usporedbe, forme su modelirane te su proračunate prijenosne funkcije i spektri odziva za zadane kutove nailaska vala, zadane brzine i zadane kutove bočnog nagiba. U obzir su uzeti svi stupnjevi slobode gibanja, ali je proračun izvršen samo za posrtanje. Forme jedrilica modelirane su u programskom paketu Rhinoceros 5. Proračun prijenosnih funkcija izveden je u programskom paketu HydroSTAR (Bureau Veritas) metodom rubnih elemenata (eng. boundary element method), a temelji se na potencijalnom strujanju i trodimenzionalnoj diskretizaciji brodskog trupa na velik broj pločastih rubnih elemenata. Rezultati su pokazali da dizajni novijeg datuma imaju malo lošije pomorstvene karakteristike za zadane uvjete.

Abstract

The objective of this final assignment is to analyse and compare seakeeping characteristics of two racing sailboats. To compare these designs, the hulls were modelled and transfer functions calculated, as well as response spectrums for each angle of approach, speed and heel angle. All six degrees of freedom were considered, but the calculation was carried out just for pitch. The hulls were modelled in Rhinoceros 5. The calculation of transfer functions was carried out in HydroSTAR (Bureau Veritas) software using the boundary element method based on potential flow and three-dimensional discretization of hulls with a large number of boundary elements. The results have shown that contemporary designs have worse seakeeping characteristics for given conditions.
