Abstract (Croatian)

Ovaj rad bavi se plastičnim otpadom i trenutno dostupnim tehnologijama za njegovo zbrinjavanje. Fokus rada je na metodama kemijskog recikliranja, primjenom kojih se iz plastičnog otpada dobivaju korisne sirovine (sintetski plin ili ulje), koje se koriste kao izvor energije ili za proizvodnju kemikalija. Prikazane su dvije najčešće korištene metode kemijske reciklaže, piroliza i rasplinjavanje. Kako bi se ispitala mogućnost primjene navedenih metoda u Republici Hrvatskoj, modelirana su dva hipotetska postrojenja bazirana na stvarnim primjerima tehnologija iz prakse. Prethodno je napravljena analiza količina i porijekla plastičnog otpada u Hrvatskoj, s naglaskom stavljenim na otpad koji završava na odlagalištu, kako bi se odredio kapacitet potencijalnih postrojenja. Napravljena je tehno-ekonomska analiza i usporedba postrojenja, kako bi se ustanovilo koja tehnologija pokazuje bolje rezultate u hrvatskim uvjetima. Na kraju je na temelju postojeće infrastrukture te logistike transporta i sakupljanja plastičnog otpada, predložena lokacija hipotetskog postrojenja.

Abstract

This paper deals with plastic waste and currently available technologies for its disposal. The focus is on chemical recycling methods, based on conversion of plastic waste to useful raw materials (synthetic gas or oil) which can be used as energy sources or for the production of chemicals. Two most commonly used methods of chemical recycling, pyrolysis and gasification, are presented. In order to examine the possibility of applying these methods in the Republic of Croatia, two hypothetical plants were modeled based on real-world practice examples. An analysis of the amount and origin of plastic waste in Croatia has been made, with an emphasis placed on waste that ends at the landfill in order to determine the capacity of potential plants. Techno-economic analysis and plant comparison were made to determine which technology shows better results in Croatian conditions. In the end, based on the existing infrastructure and logistics of transport and collection of plastic waste, the location of the hypothetical plant was proposed.
