Polimerni kompoziti s plastomernom matricom sve su zastupljeniji na tržištu. Problem impregnacije vlakana uslijed visoke viskoznosti materijala matrice i prerada pri povišenoj temperaturi sprečavaju brži rast. U radu je napravljen pregled polimernih kompozita s naglaskom na kompozite s plastomernom matricom. Izrađene su četiri ploče kopolimera etilena i metakrilne kiseline ojačane ugljičnim vlaknima s različitim parametrima prerade. Poprečni presjek ploča je analiziran optičkim mikroskopom, a potom su ispitani savojni modul elastičnosti i prividna smična međuslojna čvrstoća. Rezultati ispitivanja pokazuju velik utjecaj parametara prerade na uspješnu impregnaciju. Sa samo jednim slojem jednoosno orijentiranih vlakana i masenim udjelom vlakana od približno 2,5 % postignuto je povećanje savojnog modula od 39 %, s potencijalom poboljšanja od preko 80 % u odnosu na neojačan plastomer.

Abstract

Polymer based composites with thermoplastic matrix is a growing market, still there are some limits due to the problem of high viscosity and fibres impregnation. In this work, an overview of polymer based composites is given with an emphasis on composites with thermoplastic matrix. Four sheets of composites of carbon fibres reinforced ethylene and methacrylic acid copolymer were prepared with different processing parameters. The sheets are analysed by means of optical microscopy. Flexural elastic modulus and apparent interlaminar shear strength were tested. The results show a great influence of processing parameters on successful impregnation. With only one layer of unidirectionally oriented fibres and a mass fraction of approximately 2.5 %, flexural modulus increased for 39 %, with a potential of over 80 % compared to the unreinforced thermoplastic polymer.
