Abstract (Croatian)

U ovom radu istražen je utjecaj mjerila na faktor forme pomoću numeričkih simulacija viskoznog strujanja oko udvojenog modela broda DTC (Duisburg Test Case) u različitim mjerilima te broda u naravi. Numeričke simulacije su provedene unutar komercijalnog programskog paketa STAR-CCM+. Dan je pregled literature te matematički model, koji se temelji na Reynoldsovim osrednjenim Navier-Stokesovim (RANS) jednadžbama. Primijenjen je k−???? SST model turbulencije te je prikazan postupak verifikacije dobivenih rezultata. Provedena je validacija dobivenih vrijednosti koeficijenata otpora trenja i faktora forme te je dobiveno zadovoljavajuće slaganje rezultata. Pokazano je kako se povećanjem Reynoldsovog broja faktor forme povećava. Na temelju provedenih numeričkih simulacija može se zaključiti kako je računalnom dinamikom fluida moguće odrediti faktor forme uz zadovoljavajuću točnost.

Abstract

In this study the scale effect on form factor is investigated utilizing numerical simulations of double body viscous flow around DTC (Duisburg Test Case) model in different scales and ship. Numerical simulations are performed within commercial software package STAR-CCM+. Literature review is given along with the mathematical model based on Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations. k−???? SST turbulence model is applied and verification procedure is shown. The obtained frictional resistance coefficients and form factors are validated and satisfactory agreement has been achieved. It has been shown that form factor increases with an increase in Reynolds number. Based on the performed numerical simulations, it can be concluded that form factor can be reliably determined by means of Computational Fluid Dynamics.
