Abstract (Croatian)

U ovom radu je opisan način rada opreme koja se koristi za „kite foiling“ te način njena korištenja kako bi se dobila jasnija predodžba o silama s kojima su hidrodinamičke sile u ravnoteži. Ta ravnoteža opisana je pojednostavljenim mehaničkim modelom kako bi se rezultati dobiveni numeričkim simulacijama mogli kvantitativno usporediti s vrijednostima koje se očekuju u realnim uvjetima stacionarne vožnje. U radu je zatim provedena analiza hidrodinamičkih sila na uronjenim dijelovima „kite foil“ daske. Promatrana je ovisnost hidrodinamičkog uzgona i otpora o tri parametra: brzini gibanja daske, uzdužnom nagibu daske i duljini nosača stražnjeg krila, pri tipičnim slučajevima stacionarnog gibanja. Napravljena je simulacija izdvojenog strujanja oko prednjeg krila koja je poslužila za uži odabir parametara strujanja pri kasnijim simulacijama. Također je napravljena simulacija izdvojenog strujanja oko stražnjeg krila. Simulacijom zajedničkog strujanja oko oba krila utvrđen je zanemariv utjecaj stražnjeg krila na strujanje oko prednjeg krila i veliki utjecaj prednjeg krila na strujanje oko stražnjeg krila. Sila uzgona na stražnjem krilu je promjenjivog predznaka i malog iznosa u usporedbi sa silom uzgona na prednje krilo, što je potvrdilo pretpostavku da prednje krilo služi za ostvarivanje sile uzgona, dok stražnje krilo služi stabilizaciji daske pri gibanju.

Abstract

In this thesis, the working principle of kite foiling equipment is described and the way it is used, so that the perception of forces witch hydrodynamic forces are in balance with, could be obtained. This balance is described with a simplified mechanical model so that numeric simulation results could be compared quantitatively with values expected in real stationary sailing conditions. Following this, the thesis presents research on hydrodynamic forces acting upon submerged parts of “kite foil” board with respect to three parameters: sailing speed, board pitch, and length of rear wing carrier, within typical stationary sailing conditions. Simulation of isolated flow around the front wing was made, which was helpful for narrowing down ranges of flow parameters. Simulation of isolated flow around the rear wing was also made. By simulating combined flow around both wings, negligible influence of the rear wing on flow around the front wing and great influence of the front wing on flow around the rear wing was shown. Lift force acting upon the rear wing changes orientation and has low values in comparison with front wing lift force, which verified the assumption that front wing is used for providing lift, while rear wing is used for stabilization of the board.
