Abstract (Croatian)

U radu je opisan postupak pretvorbe postojećeg 1:8 buggy modela automobila na daljinsko upravljanje u 1:8 GT model. Rad počinje uvodom u svijet automodelarstva, specifično te dvije kategorije te opisuje njihove temeljne razlike. Potom opisuje bitne korake u procesu prenamjene modela. Buggy model automobila na daljinsko upravljanje namijenjen je za utrke po prvenstveno zemljanoj podlozi, s mnogim skokovima i preprekama na stazi. S druge strane, 1:8 GT model automobila namijenjen je isključivo za utrke na posebno pripremljenim asfaltnim stazama, na kojima nema skokova niti prepreka. Očite su velike razlike u uvjetima utrkivanja, samim time i karakteristike tih dvaju kategorija modela. U radu se vrši analiza konstrukcije vozila i dijelova koje je moguće preoblikovati s ciljem prilagodbe vozila u natjecateljsku kategoriju 1:8 GT. Diplomski rad potom opisuje proces preoblikovanja ili konstruiranja, izrade te u konačnici ispitivanja svih potrebnih dijelova za uspješnu pretvorbu off-road buggy modela u cestovni GT model, držeći se pritom pravila krovne europske automodelarske institucije EFRA-e (European Federation of Radio operated Model Automobiles).

Abstract

This thesis describes the process of converting an existing 1:8 scale buggy radiocontrolled model car into a 1:8 scale GT model car. The paper begins with a quick introduction into the world of competitive RC racing, specifically the two mentioned categories, and describes their biggest differences. It then continues into a description of all the major steps in the conversion. On one hand, a 1:8 scale buggy model car is intended for off-road racing on different surfaces (mostly gravel), with plenty of jumps and obstacles on the track. On the othed hand, a 1:8 scale GT model car is designed for racing on smooth asphalt surfaces, without any jumps and obstacles. The differences in these two types of racing are obvious, as well as the differences between the model cars. The thesis contains an analysis of the technical specifications and searches for areas which contain potential for improvement with the aim of sucessfully converting the model car into the 1:8 GT class. The work then describes the design, production and testing of all the new elements needed to sucessfully convert a buggy into a GT model car, fully complying with all the technical rules of the class issued by EFRA, the European Federation of Radio operated Model Automobiles.
