Abstract (Croatian)

Baze patenata su baze podataka koje su ujedno i najveći skup opisa tehnoloških dostignuća čovječanstva. Pretragom patentnih spisa, koji predstavljaju izvor informacija o tehnološkom razvoju koji se kontinuirano nadopunjuje proteklih 200 godina, moguće je izvršiti analizu te odrediti stupanj napretka određene tehnologije. Kako bi ocjenjivanje pojedinih tehnologija unutar baza patenata bilo lakše i jednostavnije razvijene su kvantitativne i kvalitativne metode za analizu evolucije patenata i tehnologije, međutim iste nisu automatizirane ni u široj upotrebi. Kako bi se olakšala odluka o investiciji u razvoj određenog proizvoda ili tehnologije, potrebno je sučelje koje bi korisniku vizualno predočilo stanje tehnologije. U ovome radu prikazane su metode za analizu izuma u cilju boljeg razumijevanja evolucije tehnologije te je kreirana web aplikacija koja na temelju zadanih uvjeta pretrage vizualno prikazuje kvalitativne metode za analizu evolucije patenata.

Abstract

Patent databases are databases which also represent the largest aggregate of descriptions of the humanities’ technological achievements. Searching patent records, which provide a source of information on the continually complementing technological development over the past 200 years, enables us to analyse and determine the stage of development of a certain technology. Several quantitative and qualitative patent evolution analysis methods have been developed with the goal of easier development stage assessment, however, they are not automated or widespread enough. A user interface that would be able to present a technology’s development stage visually would greatly ease a user’s decision on investment in a certain product or technology. This paper discusses invention analysis methods to provide a better understanding of technology evolution and describes the developed web-application which visually presents qualitative patent evolution analysis methods.
