Abstract (Croatian)

Sve više i više se uočava potreba za uporabom polietilenskih cjevovoda zbog njihovih brojnih prednosti. Da bismo znali kako ih zavariti potrebno je znati kojem strojevima je to moguće i po kakvim pravilima se radi i zašto. U teoretskom dijelu dan je pregled strojeva za zavarivanje PE cjevovoda, procjenjeni su trendovi razvoja i objašnjene su osnove konstruiranja strojeva za zavarivanje PE cjevovoda. U eksperimentalnom dijelu pokazana je važnost pridržavanja pravila kada se radi o zavarivanju cjevovoda i objašnjene su posljedice koje se mogu desiti ako se ta pravila zanemare.

Abstract

Because of their many advantages, the need for polyethylene pipelines is rising more and more lately. In order to know how to weld them, we must know something about PE welding machines and some rules how to do it correctly, and why. In the first part of this paper, a review of welding machines, as well as an assessment of future trends for polyethylene pipes is given.The basics of designing of PE pipe welders are also shown. The second part deals with the importance of following rules while welding poyethylene pipes, and with consequences that can happen if they are not followed.
