Motori s unutarnjim izgaranjem svake godine moraju zadovoljiti sve strože uvjete po pitanju emisije štetnih plinova, a osim toga moraju se unaprjeđivati i po pitanju efikasnosti koju krajnji kupac vidi u obliku potrošnje goriva. U zadovoljavanju ovih uvjeta važnu ulogu igra razvodni sustav. Njegov je zadatak da omogući izmjenu radne tvari u svakom radnom ciklusu. Pri tome razvodni sustav utječe na proces izgaranja u cilindru tako što svojim djelovanjem utječe na tlak i temperaturu u cilindru te količinu zaostalih ispušnih plinova u istom. Značajke MultiAir sustava, koji je istražen u ovom radu, su elektrohidrauličko upravljanje te veća sloboda u odabiru profila podizaja usisnih ventila nego kod dosadašnjih promjenjivih razvodnih sustava. Svrha ovog rada je utvrditi utjecaj sustava MultiAir na vanjske značajke motora. U istraživanju se za provedene simulacije koristio programski paket AVL BOOST v2013.1, a dobiveni rezultati uspoređeni su s onima kod motora bez navedenog sustava, odnosno motora sa zaklopkom. Također, načini rada sustava MultiAir međusobno su uspoređeni kako bi se otkrile prednosti i mane svakog od njih.

Abstract

Internal combustion engines have to deal with emission standards that are becoming tighter every year but they also have to be improved in terms of efficiency which is seen by the customer in the form of fuel consumption. Valve train systems play an important role in meeting the mentioned demands. Their task is to enable the exchange of fuel mixture in every cycle. By doing so, they affect the pressure and temperature in the cylinder but also the amount of residual exhaust gases. Features of MultiAir system, that was researched in this paper, are hydro-electric control and a greater freedom in choice of optimal intake valve lift profile. The purpose of this paper is to determine the impact of MultiAir system on external characteristics of an engine. During the research, the necessary simulations were carried out using AVL BOOST v2013.1 software and the results were compared with those of an engine that uses throttle valve instead of MultiAir system. Different modes of MultiAir system were also compared to each other in order to determine the advantages and disadvantages of each of them.
