Abstract (Croatian)

Industrijski razvoj doveo je do značajnog porasta broja stanovništva, a posljednično tome i do značajnog porasta mase otpada. Posebnu opasnost za okoliš predstavlja toksični otpad. Širom svijeta 75 % metalnog cinka izdvaja se iz sfaleritne rude, a najčešći je hidrometalurški postupak prerade cinka iz rude jarosit proces. Jarosit procesom nastaje mineral jarosit koji sadrži toksične elemente kao što su olovo, cink, kadmij, željezo, arsen itd., koji se lako rasprostranjuje u okoliš vjetrom, erozijom ili raznim kemijskim reakcijama i zagađuje isti. Kako bi prerada cinka bila povoljnija za okoliš, u svijetu se razvijaju čišći i noviji procesi. Međutim, razvijanje novih procesa je dugotrajno, a recikliranje i ponovna upotreba čestica jarosita kao punila za kompozite na bazi poliesterske smole pokazalo se kao jedna od mogućnosti smanjenja mase otpada. U ovom radu određen je kemijski i fazni sastav jarosita. Cilj ovog rada je određivanje koeficijenta difuzije vode u poliesterske smole ojačane staklenim vlaknima s i bez prisutnosti čestica jarosita kao punila.

Abstract

Industrial development has led to a significant increase in the number of population, and ultimately to a significant increase in the mass of waste. Particularly hazardous for the environment is toxic waste. Across the globe, 75% of metal zinc is extracted from the sfalerite ore, and the most common is the hydrometallurgical process of zinc processing from the ore jarosite process. Jarosite process produces mineral jarosite containing toxic elements such as lead, zinc, cadmium, iron, arsenic, etc., which are easily distributed to the environment causing pollution. In order to make zinc processing more environmentally friendly, cleaner and more recent processes are being developed in the world. However, the development of new processes is long-lasting and the recycling and re-use of jarosite particles as fillers for polyester resin composites has been shown to be one of the possibilities of reducing waste mass. In this study, the chemical and phase composition of jarosite is determined. The aim of this study is to determine the coefficient of diffusion of water in a polyester resin reinforced with glass fibers with and without the presence of jarosite particles as a filler.
